Dimensions: one 2″ x 2″ pin, two 1 1/2″ x 1″ pins
Artist Statement: The yukata I received displays lily-like flowers in pink, purple, and yellow, with sharp thin leaves in green. I have a box of plastic game pieces found at a flea market in Paris a few years back, with no idea what kind of game they are intended for. The pink and green pieces were likely candidates for the flower colors, so I sawed out flower and leaf shapes to overlay the plastic, then added jade stones to the leaf pins and a lab grown ruby to the flower pin.
Artist Bio: I am a retired university professor, and an unrepentant collector of little treasures. I harbor fond memories of travels and residencies abroad, from the days when traveling was possible. I live in hope that I can resume my explorations of the world. Meanwhile, the treasures are finding new homes in jewelry, mostly pendants and pins.
